The blockade was a navel blockade conducted by the Allied powers during world war1. Prussia took over most of Germany and Lippe took the least. There was only about 3 free cities around Germany. The government ordered the Royal Navy to immediately cut the flow of raw materials and foodstuff to Germany.

This map shows Haig’s plan – the army would break through the enemy lines, then the infantry and cavalry would sweep on past Bapaume.
